An Imperial Easter at The Towers
Spring is about to arrive at The Towers
and with it comes our wonderful
Imperial Easter tour.
The fabulous jewels of Christmas have been carefully put away, and out have come all the special collections of Moser glass, colored glass inkwells, exquisite handmade lace, gentlemen's watch fobs, Phantom of the Opera original movie costumes and props (yes, even the Phantom's mask!!!). The upstairs bedrooms are included in the tour along with Victorian objects not seen in today's fast paced life. And of course there are the wonderful pieces of Belter furniture along with Alexander Roux, J. and J. Meeks, and Prudent Mallard among other furniture carvers.
And then there is the Imperial Easter. the 5 foot tall Edwardian rabbit (Sir Edward hare) with his newly jeweled coat, and other rabbits both large and small with eggs of crystal, porcelain and jewels are placed with care. The tiny Faberge rabbit, the dining table scene of colorful Victorian animals, the velvet hot air balloons all add charm to this magnificent antebellum home. And there are jewels and tiaras, beaded flowers, and butterflies.
